Believe it or not, to use Ripley's catch phrase, we are living in that Orwellian society described in the novel "1984" whose author, George Orwell, prophetically described a future society totally controlled by the government through the state Media and where the population acted like zombies. We are close to that point where independent thought becomes a criminal offence, where individuality disapears and human nature is controlled by the powers that be. Already now, in 2004, one notices this controlling process aproaching its final destination. The masses have lost all prespective of fairness and values,contented to live their mundane lives with no thought for tomorrow, hypnotized by the radio, television and newspapers that spue out only distorted facts and out and out lies. Our leaders, voted into high office to do their duty to their individual nations - to raise living standards and to protect the people from servitude and slavery - willingly and shamelessly guide the peoples into this nightmarish Orwellian New World Order where people will be looked upon and used as commodities.
